Description:

  • Join a growing team as an Accountant and Payroll Administrator in Colombia, managing local accounting and payroll operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Colombian financial, tax, and labor regulations while reporting to a U.S.-based team.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in the company’s accounting software (Aliaddo).
  • Issue necessary certifications as required by Colombian authorities and reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable regularly.
  • Prepare and file all applicable Colombian tax returns and audit, monitor, and update information in the accounting system.
  • Attend weekly virtual or face-to-face meetings with U.S. stakeholders and provide ongoing advice on accounting and tax issues.
  • Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support decision-making by the U.S. parent company.
  • Maintain organized financial files and documentation for compliance and potential reviews.
  • Process payroll for Colombian employees, manage employee enrollments in the social security system, and coordinate payroll execution.
  • Complete final settlements and terminations in accordance with Colombian law.

Requirements:

  • Must have an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Must be able to write and speak at least B2/C1 English.
  • Must be located in Colombia, preferably in Medellín, or willing to travel there as needed.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Accounting in Colombia, including payroll processing and policy creation; 5-7 years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Colombian labor laws and regulations is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software, with preferred experience in Aliaddo.
  • Ability to work independently, handle confidential information, and meet important deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work within a multi-national team.
  • Must uphold company core values and have a commitment to employee service.
  • Must be able to work during Colombian holidays to match the U.S. schedule.
  • Must have a distraction-free work environment for home and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
