The position is for an Agentic AI Engineer at Whitespace, which is a remote role based in Alexandria, VA.
The candidate must be eligible for clearance and must be a U.S. citizen residing in the contiguous United States.
The role involves creating AI-powered analysis and simulation using the Iris platform to enhance mission performance.
The engineer will focus on building intelligent, tool-using agents that can navigate complex environments, identify problems, and reason about remediation paths.
Responsibilities include architecting, developing, and deploying advanced autonomous AI agents, defining intelligent agent systems for real-time decision-making, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The engineer will mentor engineering teams, evaluate and enhance agentic systems, and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field with at least 5 years of related experience is required; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Strong proficiency in Python and experience with libraries and frameworks such as FastAPI, asyncio, and PyTorch is necessary.
Experience with Agentic Frameworks and tools like LangChain, AutoGPT, and Semantic Kernel is required.
Proven experience in developing and deploying robust AI/ML solutions, particularly with autonomous agents, is essential.
Direct experience integrating generative AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, LLaMA) into practical systems is needed.
The candidate must have the ability to design scalable, distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
Extensive experience in prompt engineering and fine-tuning LLM models is required.
Knowledge of grounding generative models with external knowledge sources is necessary.
Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools for model deployment and monitoring is required.
Understanding of security implications and mitigation strategies for generative AI and agentic systems is essential.
Excellent collaboration, mentorship, and communication skills are required to work effectively with distributed teams.
