The position is for an AI Algorithm Engineer at BJAK, a company focused on simplifying financial services through intelligent systems.
This role is remote, based in Vietnam, with a hybrid work arrangement allowing collaboration at the Petaling Jaya HQ in Malaysia.
The engineer will design and deploy core algorithms for personalization, optimization, fraud detection, and pricing models.
Responsibilities include designing algorithms to solve product and business challenges, tackling optimization, search, recommendation, pricing, and risk modeling problems.
The engineer will translate complex problems into structured algorithmic solutions and analyze trade-offs and performance constraints.
Writing clean, scalable, and efficient code to support algorithm development is essential.
Collaboration with software engineers and data scientists to integrate algorithms into live systems is required.
Continuous iteration on algorithms based on feedback and live data is expected.
Staying informed on advances in algorithm design and applied research is necessary.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is required.
The candidate should have 2–4 years of experience in algorithm development, backend engineering, or system design.
Proficiency in Python (preferred), C++, or Java is necessary.
A deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and optimization is essential.
Hands-on experience in solving applied problems in recommendation, ranking, search, or pricing is required.
Familiarity with numerical methods, statistical analysis, or mathematical modeling is needed.
The candidate must be comfortable working with large-scale data and real-world constraints.
Must be based in Vietnam and open to remote work while collaborating with the Malaysia team.
