  • QuartzBio is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions provider focused on the life sciences industry, delivering innovative technologies for biotech and pharma R&D teams.
  • The AI Architect will define and deliver the architecture, strategy, and execution of advanced GenAI systems that enhance core products and enable intelligent exploration of biomarker data.
  • This leadership role involves architecting complex, scalable GenAI pipelines, guiding technical design across teams, and influencing executive-level decision-making regarding AI strategy and infrastructure.
  • Responsibilities include leading the development of next-generation RAG systems, designing scalable GenAI pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and owning key architectural decisions.
  • The AI Architect will also mentor engineering talent, drive the adoption of emerging AI technologies, and ensure best practices in AI-first development are followed.
  • Additional duties include debugging complex AI system issues, maintaining internal documentation, and continuously improving technical skills.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, or software development.
  • At least 10 years of engineering experience, including 5 years of experience shipping production ML/AI systems, particularly focusing on LLMs or GenAI.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a customer-facing role and leading projects.
  • Proven experience in driving architecture and strategy for complex AI systems at scale.
  • Deep expertise in Python, cloud platforms (especially AWS), and modern AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Advanced proficiency with semantic search, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Experience with LLM tooling such as Lang Chain, Llama Index, AWS Bedrock, or OpenAI.
  • Familiarity with evaluation pipelines and performance optimization.
  • Strong systems thinking and algorithmic fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication skills with a history of aligning stakeholders and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to partner with customers and understand their requirements effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
