The developer will work with large-scale healthcare datasets, develop secure AI models, and ensure compliance with federal IT standards.
Key accountabilities include designing and implementing AI solutions, developing AI-enabled software using machine learning, NLP, and computer vision, and optimizing dashboards and algorithms for healthcare datasets.
The role also requires integrating AI components into secure federal IT environments, conducting debugging and model validation, creating technical documentation, and monitoring model performance.
Participation in Agile and DevSecOps practices is expected, along with staying updated on AI advancements and federal healthcare regulations.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 3+ years of professional experience in AI/ML development, data science, or software engineering.
Experience working with healthcare data in regulated environments is necessary.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java and familiarity with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn is required.
A background in NLP, computer vision, or time-series modeling applied to healthcare is preferred.
Strong knowledge of SQL and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or federal cloud environments) is essential.
Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab) is required.
Understanding of APIs, healthcare data standards, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, FISMA, FedRAMP) is necessary.
Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
A Master’s degree, prior experience with VA/HHS/DoD programs, or familiarity with EHR systems (Cerner, VistA/CPRS) is preferred.
