Oddball is seeking an AI/Machine Learning Engineer to contribute to a pivotal Federal program that positively impacts millions of Americans' daily lives.
The role involves leading the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models and AI solutions.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver impactful AI-driven products.
Responsibilities include applying AI/ML expertise to solve meaningful challenges in federal programs, particularly in healthcare and veterans’ services.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in software and machine learning engineering.
A minimum of 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional AI/ML teams is required.
Strong knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) and transformer models is essential.
Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers is necessary.
Expertise in the full ML pipeline, including data processing, model training, serving, and monitoring, is required.
Knowledge of NLP architectural strategies like Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Knowledge Graphs, and Agentic Graphs is important.
Proven experience in building scalable, cloud-based AI/ML solutions on platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is needed.
Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies for AI/ML development is preferred; AI/ML cybersecurity experience is a bonus.
Understanding of ethics in AI, including bias mitigation, fairness, and privacy, along with the ability to implement explainable AI techniques, is required.
Experience fine-tuning pre-trained models for specific business use cases is necessary.
Expertise in MLOps best practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows, model version control, and real-time performance monitoring, is essential.
Familiarity with NLP metrics and benchmarking utilities such as BERTScore, ROUGE, or METEOR is preferred.
Familiarity with federal AI governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST AI RMF, FedRAMP) is a plus.
Strong communication skills for effectively engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders are required.
A passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving federal government standards is essential.
Experience engineering products in federal environments or on government contracts is preferred; experience with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) is a significant advantage.
Candidates must be a US Citizen and able to work domestically.
Candidates must be able to attain low-level security clearance.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field is required; a Ph.D. in a relevant field or equivalent experience is a plus.
