  • Oddball is looking for an AI Solutions Architect to design and deliver innovative, production-ready AI/ML solutions for federal partners.
  • The role involves collaborating with product, engineering, and stakeholder teams to identify challenges, shape technical strategies, and implement scalable, secure AI systems.
  • The ideal candidate should have deep hands-on experience in machine learning and software development, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • This is a highly visible, hands-on role where the architect will define Oddball’s AI technical vision, support growth and sales efforts, and guide small teams through agile experimentation and delivery cycles.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in software development, data science, or applied machine learning.
  • The ability to analyze complex systems, identify problem areas, and design AI-powered solutions that align with user needs and agency missions is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of LLM architectures (e.g., BERT, RAG, GPT) and the ability to explain them to non-technical stakeholders is required.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native AI stacks on AWS, Azure, or GCP and comfort designing scalable, secure ML workflows is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar ML frameworks is expected.
  • A practical understanding of vector search, embeddings, knowledge graphs, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines is important.
  • Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to rapidly iterate and ship prototypes is required.
  • The candidate should have the ability to lead and mentor a small team of engineers to deliver quick-turn solutions and PoCs.
  • Clear, confident communication and presentation skills, including live solution demos with federal stakeholders, are essential.
  • Experience working across product, design, and business teams to shape AI-powered features and services is necessary.
  • Candidates must be US Citizens and able to work domestically, and they must be able to attain low-level security clearance.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field is required; a Ph.D. in a relevant field or equivalent experience is a plus.
