Affirm is seeking an action-oriented and analytically inclined Analytics Engineer to join the People Analytics organization.
The role will significantly expand data integration, transformation, and reporting capabilities within the People space, which includes talent acquisition, total rewards, feedback & development, and employee data.
The Analytics Engineer will be instrumental in architecting and building robust data infrastructure and tools to enhance the team's ability to deliver high-value data products.
Responsibilities include designing and delivering relational and non-relational database models, data pipelines, reporting, and visualization solutions.
The position involves developing and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines for various HR data sources, ensuring data quality, integrity, and reliability across all data assets.
The role requires collaboration with team members to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
The Analytics Engineer will manage and optimize cloud data warehouse infrastructure and leverage AI and LLMs for data quality checks and insights extraction.
The position advocates for technology best practices, data governance, security, privacy, quality, and retention.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of expertise with dbt (Data Build Tool), SQL, and Python.
Experience in writing clean, computationally efficient code for ETL processes and data manipulation using dbt, SQL, and Python is required.
Candidates should be comfortable with production-level IDEs and version control systems, specifically GitHub.
Proficiency in standard Python analysis packages such as Pandas and NumPy is necessary.
Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses, modern BI platforms like Sigma, and integration platforms like Fivetran is required.
Familiarity with orchestration platforms such as Airflow is also necessary.
Preferred experience includes leveraging LLMs for data transformation or analysis, MLOps, data lakes, and custom data application development using Python.
