Affirm is seeking an action-oriented and analytically inclined Analytics Engineer to join the People Analytics organization.
The role involves expanding data integration, transformation, and reporting capabilities within the People space, which includes talent acquisition, total rewards, feedback & development, and employee data.
The Analytics Engineer will architect and build robust data infrastructure and tools to enhance the team's ability to deliver high-value data products.
Responsibilities include designing and delivering database models, data pipelines, reporting, and visualization solutions throughout the analytics development life cycle (ADLC).
The candidate will develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for various HR data sources, architect scalable data models, ensure data quality and integrity, and collaborate with team members to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
The role also involves managing cloud data warehouse infrastructure and leveraging AI and LLMs for data quality checks and insights extraction.
The candidate will advocate for technology best practices and data governance, security, privacy, quality, and retention.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience with dbt (Data Build Tool), SQL, and Python is required.
The candidate must have experience writing clean, efficient code for ETL processes and data manipulation using dbt, SQL, and Python.
Proficiency in building efficient data models in dbt to transform unstructured data into analytics-ready marts is necessary.
Familiarity with production-level IDEs (e.g., Cursor, Visual Studio) and version control systems (e.g., git, specifically GitHub) is required.
Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses, modern BI platforms like Sigma, and integration platforms such as Fivetran is essential.
Knowledge of orchestration platforms like Airflow is required.
Preferred experience includes leveraging LLMs for data transformation, MLOps, data lakes, and custom data application development using Python.
