  • Skeleton's Commercial department is seeking a driven and experienced Application Engineer- Data Centers (m/f/x) to support customers and partners across the United States.
  • The role involves being the key technical liaison between sales, product, and engineering teams and major data center customers.
  • Responsibilities include providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support to data center customers and partners.
  • The engineer will collaborate with sales teams to identify customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • The position requires developing and optimizing system architectures for integrating Skeleton’s ultracapacitors into data center UPS, backup power, and energy efficiency applications.
  • Conducting on-site visits, technical trainings, and product demonstrations is also part of the role.
  • The engineer will support system design, including electrical schematics, thermal considerations, and lifecycle cost analysis.
  • Close collaboration with R&D and Product Development is necessary to communicate field feedback and improve product-market fit.
  • Preparing technical documentation such as specifications, integration guides, and white papers tailored for the U.S. data center market is required.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant U.S. industry standards and certifications (UL, IEEE, etc.) is essential.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field is required.
  • Candidates must have 3+ years of experience as an application or field engineer in the data center or power infrastructure industry.
  • Strong knowledge of power backup systems, UPS, batteries, and/or ultracapacitors is necessary.
  • Familiarity with thermal management, grid-tied systems, and data center operational requirements is expected.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.
  • The ability to travel domestically (up to 25–40%) for customer meetings and site support is required.
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Extra cookie points for additional qualifications include experience working with Tier 1 or hyperscale data center operators, knowledge of energy storage regulations and incentive programs in the U.S., hands-on experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS) or electrical CAD tools, and experience with industrial or grid-connected systems, especially in backup power applications.
