The role of Application Monitoring Officer involves providing enterprise-level monitoring to services and systems.
Responsibilities include ensuring the stability, integrity, and operation of production systems by monitoring, configuring, and driving optimizations.
The officer will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues in an accurate and timely manner.
Key tasks include researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to resolve system issues.
The officer will take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution.
Tracking computer system issues through to resolution within agreed time limits is essential.
Unresolved issues must be properly escalated to appropriate internal teams, such as project managers and software developers.
Providing prompt and accurate feedback to customers is required.
The officer will refer to internal databases or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions.
Prioritizing and managing several open issues at one time is necessary.
Documenting technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals is part of the role.
Requirements:
Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician, or a similar role is required.
A BSc degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field is necessary.
A basic understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts is expected.
A good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products is essential.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are required.
Familiarity with basic network concepts and tools is necessary.
Experience troubleshooting using stack traces and log files is required.
Experience interacting with APIs and troubleshooting related requests is necessary.
The candidate should have experience being on-call and the ability to jump into complex situations and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of SQL databases, particularly MySQL, is required.
Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS environments is necessary.
