  • The officer will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Key tasks include researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to resolve system issues.
  • The officer will take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution.
  • Tracking computer system issues through to resolution within agreed time limits is essential.
  • Unresolved issues must be properly escalated to appropriate internal teams, such as project managers and software developers.
  • Providing prompt and accurate feedback to customers is required.
  • The officer will refer to internal databases or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions.
  • Prioritizing and managing several open issues at one time is necessary.
  • Documenting technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals is part of the role.

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician, or a similar role is required.
  • A BSc degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field is necessary.
  • A basic understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts is expected.
  • A good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with basic network concepts and tools is necessary.
  • Experience troubleshooting using stack traces and log files is required.
  • Experience interacting with APIs and troubleshooting related requests is necessary.
  • The candidate should have experience being on-call and the ability to jump into complex situations and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL databases, particularly MySQL, is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS environments is necessary.
