Firstbase is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to embed AI across its product suite.
As the first AI hire, you will lead the application of AI to core business and product workflows.
You will own the end-to-end stack, from early prototyping to production deployment, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.
The role offers high autonomy and a significant opportunity to impact the company's AI standards.
Responsibilities include identifying high-impact AI improvements, rapid prototyping, integrating off-the-shelf models, experimenting and iterating on solutions, training models with Firstbaseโs data, and building out the internal AI stack.
The technology stack includes PHP, Golang, Node.js, Vue, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, Redis, Docker, and various collaboration tools.
Requirements:
Proven experience in applying machine learning and/or LLMs to real-world product challenges in production.
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with Machine Learning, preferably in a SaaS or product-led B2B environment.
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with LLMs and GenAI techniques, including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation.
Experience deploying on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with CI/CD and containerization workflows.
Ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, demonstrating critical thinking.
Bonus points for exposure to data engineering or analytics pipelines.
Location preference is Latam/US.
