Description:

  • Firstbase is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to embed AI across its product suite.
  • As the first AI hire, you will lead the application of AI to core business and product workflows.
  • You will own the end-to-end stack, from early prototyping to production deployment, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.
  • The role offers high autonomy and a significant opportunity to impact the company's AI standards.
  • Responsibilities include identifying high-impact AI improvements, rapid prototyping, integrating off-the-shelf models, experimenting and iterating on solutions, training models with Firstbaseโ€™s data, and building out the internal AI stack.
  • The technology stack includes PHP, Golang, Node.js, Vue, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, Redis, Docker, and various collaboration tools.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in applying machine learning and/or LLMs to real-world product challenges in production.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with Machine Learning, preferably in a SaaS or product-led B2B environment.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with LLMs and GenAI techniques, including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation.
  • Experience deploying on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with CI/CD and containerization workflows.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, demonstrating critical thinking.
  • Bonus points for exposure to data engineering or analytics pipelines.
  • Location preference is Latam/US.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions and present ideas clearly; proficiency in English is essential for remote roles.
