The Associate Cloud Engineer position is 100% remote, working during eastern time zone business hours.
This is a contract position expected to last through September 2025, with strong potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment.
The role involves monitoring, installation, configuration, debugging, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of technology solutions.
Essential functions include performing installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned technology.
The engineer will manage system/application environments and ongoing operations, ensuring technologies are updated with current, stable, and compliant architecture.
Responsibilities include researching, designing, implementing, and testing technology solutions, as well as proactively monitoring and reporting performance.
The role requires troubleshooting software and hardware issues, resolving alerts, managing escalated tickets, and collecting data for reporting.
The engineer will assist in developing strategies and processes related to systems/application administration and may provide input into infrastructure architecture designs.
On-call activities may be required for the environment and technologies.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive working knowledge of multiple technologies and their interfaces and integration.
Competence in working in environments highly integrated with an operating system is required.
Extensive experience in implementing and managing technical solutions in large-scale system implementations is necessary.
High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with business objectives are essential.
Candidates must be able to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
The ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance is required.
Clear and articulate communication of technical information is necessary.
Candidates should be adaptable to a rapidly changing environment.
Experience in analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical solutions is required.
Familiarity with Agile methodology is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a cloud environment is required.
Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary.
Terraform experience is required, and understanding of Kubernetes is a plus.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
