NiCE is seeking a passionate and technically skilled Associate Cloud Operations Support Engineer to join the Cloud Applications Support Team in Vertical Markets.
The role involves ensuring the smooth operation, performance, and reliability of business-critical cloud-hosted applications.
Responsibilities include participating in โeyes on glass monitoring,โ alert response, and incident management processes.
The engineer will provide technical support for complex, cloud-hosted applications and troubleshoot high-severity issues across multiple systems.
Routine application maintenance, patching, and upgrades will be performed as part of the role.
Daily data processing activities will be monitored, and operational failures will be troubleshot.
The engineer will build and enhance proactive monitoring and alerting tools.
Contributions to automation initiatives using Ansible, Python, or Perl scripting are expected.
The role includes assisting in setting up and securing new application instances and environments.
Participation in change management processes, including creating deployment/rollback plans and executing patches or fixes, is required.
A comprehensive knowledge base of technical solutions and resolutions will be created and maintained.
Deployment scripts for various environments (UAT vs. PROD) will be developed and maintained.
Application and web server configurations will be tuned for performance optimization.
Collaboration with R&D, Professional Services, and other Operations teams to implement and maintain infrastructure and applications is essential.
Internal tools and utilities will be developed and maintained to improve support efficiency.
Clear and timely communication with stakeholders during critical incidents will be driven.
Flexibility to work in a 24x7 shift model, including off-hours and on-call duties, is necessary.
Requirements:
A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related degree is required.
The candidate should have 1-1.5 years of relevant experience.
Excellent hands-on experience in managing Application Support (tier3/tier2 apps) is necessary.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
Exposure to handling complex application performance issues is required.
Good experience in a DevOps environment, Operations team, or Infrastructure Operations team is needed.
Excellent troubleshooting skills are mandatory.
OS level knowledge (Windows or Linux/Unix) is required.
Database skills in SQL, Oracle, or Postgres/Cassandra are necessary.
Skills in application server technologies (e.g., Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere) are required.
A good understanding of networking and load balancers is necessary.
Exposure to scripting languages (Ansible, Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell script, PowerShell, etc.) is required.
Experience working with tools like OpsGenie, Nagios, and Rundeck is necessary.
