Remote Associate IT Engineer

Description:

• Careem is building the Everything App for the greater Middle East, aiming to simplify and improve the lives of people.
• The Associate IT Engineer will provide technical assistance to colleagues in the Karachi office and other markets remotely.
• Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware incidents and assisting with day-to-day IT needs.
• The role involves providing 1st to 3rd support for IT systems and services, logging incidents via the ITSM tool (Jira), and ensuring incidents are resolved within set SLAs.
• Daily checks on IT infrastructure and systems will be performed to ensure uptime for network performance and business applications.
• The engineer will support the Call Center with technical support and hardware configuration.
• Responsibilities also include troubleshooting system and network problems, installing new hardware and software, and assisting with onboarding and offboarding processes.
• The role requires coordination with local suppliers for asset management and providing assistance with technology-related issues.
• Meeting room support for tele/video conference solutions and problem management to address recurring issues will be part of the job.
• The engineer will work closely with the Information Security team to enforce IT security policies and best practices.
• Continuous improvement and infrastructure project responsibilities will be expected, along with participation in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in computing or a similar discipline is required.
• Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience as an all-rounder IT support/infrastructure engineer.
• Working knowledge of IAM, MDM, Office 365 or Google Apps, Slack, Zoom, Meraki WiFi, Apple Mac, Windows, VMWare, and Public/Private cloud technologies is necessary.
• IT certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or ITIL are preferred.
• The ability to support on Saturdays as part of a shift rotation is required.
• Basic knowledge and experience in automation with scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, or Javascript is a plus.
• Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to effectively communicate project information, deliver presentations, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
