We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer (Camunda Migration & Backend Automation) to join our internal automation team at Security and Compliance at DT Technik.
The primary objective of this role is to lead and support the migration of backend automation workflows from the legacy platform Resolve to Camunda, while ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security.
You will play a key role in analyzing, translating, and re-implementing existing automation workflows and developing new solutions where needed using Camunda and BPMN 2.0.
This role offers the opportunity to influence the direction of the automation architecture, with a strong focus on Java-based backend development, DevOps tooling, and API-driven workflows.
Key responsibilities include understanding and analyzing existing automation workflows implemented in Resolve, migrating automation logic and workflows to Camunda using BPMN 2.0 standards, and developing and maintaining backend logic in Java, Groovy, and Python.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and automation goals, integrate Camunda workflows with existing systems and APIs, and support CI/CD automation through GitLab Pipelines.
It is essential to ensure secure, maintainable, and testable automation code while adhering to security and compliance requirements throughout the implementation process.
Additionally, you will document migration progress, workflows, and technical decisions.
Requirements:
Must have working proficiency in English.
Programming experience with Java, Groovy, and Python is required.
A solid understanding of APIs and how to interact with them is necessary.
Experience with Camunda and BPMN 2.0 is essential.
Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines is required.
Very good to have an understanding of networking and protocols.
Experience working on Linux-based systems is advantageous.
Nice to have experience with Resolve, familiarity with JIRA, and German language skills.
