The company is hiring a manufacturing automation software engineer to join its automation team, which is responsible for designing and building automation and mechanized equipment for factories.
This role will be crucial in innovating, developing, and deploying automated systems to achieve ambitious goals in the dental industry.
Responsibilities include leading the technical development of manufacturing automation initiatives, sustaining and improving Dandyโs 3D scanning technology platform, and taking ownership of software development for 3D scanning projects.
The engineer will work with factory and quality teams to identify gaps in current technology and develop solutions, as well as develop the software platform for a Proof of Concept 3D scanning machine.
Engagement with vendors to construct machines that meet Dandy's specifications is also required.
The role involves supervising and reporting on manufacturing metrics from automated systems and driving improvement programs.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in Manufacturing.
In-depth knowledge of 3D scanning and point cloud data manipulation is required.
The ability to develop or utilize an existing SDK to transfer data from 3D scanners into custom-built applications is necessary.
Experience in stitching multiple point cloud datasets into a single file is essential.
Candidates should have experience comparing point cloud data to manufacturing design CAD files.
A constant partnership with multiple functional teams across Dandy and its equipment suppliers is expected.
Strong technical skills, including problem-solving and issue root causing in a pressured environment, are required.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 15% is necessary.
A BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
