The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking two highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineers for remote positions, specifically local to Richmond, VA.
The role involves building AWS/React/NodeJS micro frontend applications and APIs to enhance business decision-making and processes across all business units.
Responsibilities include the development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and applications, enabling collaboration, automation, and efficiency.
The Full Stack Developer will design and develop scalable, resilient AWS micro frontends and engineering solutions using cloud-native services and technologies.
Additional tasks include creating comprehensive solution documentation, setting up CI/CD pipelines, ensuring solution completeness through testing, managing configuration drift, and applying DevOps principles.
The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand change requirements and provide technical expertise.
Requirements:
Expertise in developing AWS full stack applications, translating business requirements into fully tested application workflows using approved tools for AWS, NodeJS, and React.
Proficiency in micro-frontends orchestration and strong knowledge of cloud platforms and native cloud services.
Experience in API development, specifically for cloud environments including AWS API Gateway.
Understanding of cloud networking concepts, security best practices, and identity and access management (IAM).
Familiarity with serverless computing concepts and event-driven architecture.
Ability to automate cloud infrastructure management using tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as NodeJS and Python.
Experience in monitoring and logging for cloud infrastructure and applications.
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline development and version control.
Ability to provide end-user training and support for improved solution literacy.
Skills in analyzing business processes for automation opportunities and implementing solutions.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Compliance with all policies and procedures of the Agency is required.
AWS Developer Associate or Solution Architect Professional Certification is desired.
