This position is for an experienced AWS Engineer to join our team for a critical initiative aimed at enhancing the security of our Customer Identity and Access Management application.
The role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust disaster recovery (DR) strategies and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability and trust in the event of regional AWS outages or domain compromises.
You will work closely with the Solution Architect to build a robust multi-region DR strategy and domain failover plan.
You will be reporting to a Senior Manager.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing multi-region DR architectures within AWS, deploying critical resources such as EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and S3 in a secondary region, using Aurora RDS Databases and cross-region replication for database resilience, configuring Amazon Route 53 with health checks and DNS failover, and using AWS services like S3 replication, AWS Backup, and RDS snapshots to replicate data and workloads.
You will plan and conduct regular recovery tests and simulations to validate DR plans, collaborate with business stakeholders to define business continuity requirements, maintain detailed DR documentation, communicate DR processes to stakeholders, monitor DR infrastructure performance, and implement secure domain failover strategies.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in DevOps, AWS Cloud, or Site Reliability Engineering.
Strong expertise in AWS, especially EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Route 53, S3, IAM, and VPC is required.
Hands-on experience with ForgeRock Identity Platform (IDM, AM, DS, IG etc.) in containerized environments is necessary.
Proficiency in Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and CI/CD pipelines is essential.
Experience with multi-region deployments, DR planning, and DNS failover is required.
Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or JavaScript are necessary.
Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure-as-code management is required.
