Valtech is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) to join their team.
The role involves working in a multidisciplinary project team alongside software engineers, QA engineers, and frontend engineers on experience and commerce platforms.
Responsibilities include building, changing, and maintaining cloud infrastructures in Azure, setting up logging, monitoring, and security, and supporting teams in setting up and maintaining their pipelines.
The engineer will coach medior and junior colleagues, proactively advise on cloud-related improvements, and help project managers budget and plan cloud work.
Participation in a 24x7 on-call duty rotation is required, along with coordinating cloud work in projects with multiple cloud engineers.
The engineer will serve as the single point of contact for clients and project management on cloud topics and ensure documentation is created and maintained.
Compliance with security standards and client requirements is also a key responsibility.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a cloud engineer in Azure.
Strong communication skills and a cooperative attitude are essential.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, is required.
Solid knowledge of Azure's serverless services and monitoring systems such as Application Insights and Azure Monitor is necessary.
Familiarity with pipelining tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps is expected.
Knowledge of microservices-related technology, including Docker and Kubernetes, is important.
A good conceptual understanding of cloud architecture and system thinking is required.
Candidates should have experience working in a DevOps context and possess an excellent command of English (C2).
Familiarity with technologies such as Container services, AKS, Azure functions, SQL as a service, and Cosmos DB is necessary.
Experience in publicly accessible, highly available eCommerce or experience platforms is required, along with experience working in an international context with on- and off-shore teams.
