  • Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining microservices and RESTful APIs, ensuring service reliability and performance, building integrations with internal and third-party systems, applying a DevOps mindset, implementing testing strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring services in production, and staying current with back-end trends.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency with Java (modern versions) and Spring Boot (Spring Data, Web, Security) is required.
  • A solid understanding of microservices architecture, including service boundaries, API design, and resiliency patterns, is necessary.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or OpenShift is essential.
  • Knowledge of relational datastores (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and at least one NoSQL option (e.g., DynamoDB/Redis) is required.
  • Familiarity with messaging/streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka/RabbitMQ) and asynchronous patterns is needed.
  • Experience with observability tools (logs, metrics, traces) such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana is important.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD, containers (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift) is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of proven Java back-end development experience is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot in building production services is required.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices, including service decomposition, API design, resilience, and security, is essential.
  • Reactive microservices experience (Project Reactor/WebFlux) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated DevOps mindset, including automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code concepts, is required.
  • Familiarity with authentication/authorization (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT) and secure coding practices is necessary.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows (branches, PRs, reviews) is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and teamwork abilities are essential.
  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English are required.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with tools like Jira or Trello is a plus.
