Collaboration with front-end, QA, and DevOps teams is essential, promoting a DevOps mindset to automate, monitor, and continuously improve the platform.
Experience with AWS and OpenShift is highly valued, and familiarity with reactive microservices is preferred but not mandatory.
Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining microservices and RESTful APIs, ensuring service reliability and performance, building integrations with internal and third-party systems, applying a DevOps mindset, implementing testing strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring services in production, and staying current with back-end trends.
Requirements:
Candidates must have strong proficiency with Java (modern versions) and Spring Boot (Spring Data, Web, Security).
A solid understanding of microservices architecture, including service boundaries, API design, and resiliency patterns, is required.
Experience with AWS services and/or OpenShift is necessary.
Knowledge of relational datastores (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and one NoSQL option (e.g., DynamoDB/Redis) is expected.
Familiarity with messaging/streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka/RabbitMQ) and asynchronous patterns is important.
Candidates should have experience with observability tools (logs, metrics, traces) such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Proficiency in CI/CD, containers (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift) is required.
A minimum of 4 years of proven Java back-end development experience is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot in building production services is essential.
Strong knowledge of microservices, including service decomposition, API design, resilience, and security, is required.
Reactive microservices experience (Project Reactor/WebFlux) is preferred but not mandatory.
Candidates should demonstrate a DevOps mindset, including automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
Familiarity with authentication/authorization (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT) and secure coding practices is necessary.
Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows (branches, PRs, reviews) is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and teamwork abilities are essential.
Strong communication skills in written and spoken English are required.
Experience working in Agile environments with tools like Jira/Trello is a plus.
