Remote Backend Engineer

• You will be responsible for translating business requirements into maintainable, scalable code, owning services end-to-end, experimenting and iterating to improve systems, making architecture decisions, and reviewing code with constructive feedback.
• The role involves designing and implementing backend systems, APIs, and features, collaborating with product, engineering, and operations teams, and sharing knowledge to raise the quality bar across the team.

Requirements:

• You must have 5+ years of experience building complex backend systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Rails, JavaScript, Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, or similar is required.
• Strong programming skills in more than one language are essential.
• Solid Git fundamentals are necessary for this position.
• Expertise in SQL and/or NoSQL schema design and complex queries is required.
• Experience in designing RESTful APIs is a must.
• You should have operational experience in deploying and maintaining services, monitoring, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
