LaunchDarkly is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer with experience in experimentation or data-driven products.
The role involves collaborating closely with a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, and fullstack engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
The engineer will help build an experimentation platform that balances power and accessibility.
Responsibilities include contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, performant services using Go and RESTful APIs, as well as working with the data pipeline.

Requirements:
Candidates should have 3–8 years of professional software development experience, primarily in backend development.
Experience programming in Go or a strong interest and ability to learn it is required.
Familiarity with designing and consuming RESTful APIs is necessary.
An understanding of experimentation methodologies (e.g., A/B testing) and interest in data-informed development is expected.
A solid grasp of software engineering principles, design patterns, and coding best practices is essential.
Exposure to building or maintaining scalable, production-grade systems is required.
Familiarity with observability practices and tools (e.g., logging, metrics, monitoring) is necessary.
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset are essential.
Candidates should be comfortable working in Agile development environments.
Experience with CI/CD practices and tools is required.
A passion for writing high-quality code and continuously improving engineering practices is necessary.
A self-motivated approach and willingness to take initiative are expected.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment is essential.
Prior experience working with or contributing to distributed teams is a plus.

The target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones for Level P3 are as follows: Zone 1 (San Francisco/Bay Area or New York City Metropolitan Area: $167,000 - $229,000), Zone 2 (Boston, DC, Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Seattle: $150,000 - $206,000), and Zone 3 (All other US locations: $141,000 - $195,000).
