Remote Backend Engineer

• Backend engineers are responsible for building the core data-flows of Kitman Labs products with a focus on security, privacy, robustness, and performance.
• The backend engineering team builds APIs and data processing pipelines that manage large amounts of data from sports teams globally.
• They collaborate with the Data Science team to create and maintain data models that are at the forefront of injury risk prevention technology.
• Candidates should be comfortable with complex systems and open to new technologies and problem-solving approaches.
• Attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to time and effort are essential.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience building APIs or be part of a team that builds dynamic web applications.
• A demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and programming languages is required.
• While experience in Ruby is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite; the ability to learn is more important.
• Candidates should hold themselves and others to a high standard.
• A commitment to seeing projects through to successful completion is essential.
• Recognizing the importance of standardized, fully tested code delivered in a CI/CD environment is necessary.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar platforms is a bonus.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, particularly using Terraform, is an advantage.
