SupplyHouse.com is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their IT Team, reporting to the Full Stack Team Lead.
The role involves working on impactful projects that enhance the e-commerce platform and internal operations while developing skills in backend and full stack development.
This is a remote position available to individuals in specific states, including Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
The position requires occasional travel to the headquarters in Melville, NY for internal meetings and team-building activities, with reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses.
The work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with time zone flexibility.
The base salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $115,000 per year.
Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, designing and maintaining software applications, enhancing internal tools, ensuring system reliability, improving existing codebases, and staying updated with emerging technologies.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in backend and/or full-stack development with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software.
Proficiency in Java and experience with back-end frameworks like Spring Boot are essential.
A strong understanding of database design, RDBMS concepts, and experience with SQL is required.
Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration is necessary.
Proven ability to contribute across the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance is expected.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines is required.
Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred.
Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities are essential.
Candidates should be able to create reusable code libraries and write clean, maintainable code.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary for effective teamwork.
High-level proficiency in written and verbal communication in English is required.
