PlayOn is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of web applications for high school sports fans.
The engineer will collaborate with the product development team to deliver high-quality and performant software experiences based on specific product requirements in an agile environment.
Responsibilities include developing APIs and services for public-facing web applications, maintaining .NET APIs, and designing performant solutions.
The role involves developing modern API and service-oriented backend solutions using C# .NET, SQL, and AWS.
Collaboration with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers is essential.
The engineer will work to improve the overall quality, performance, and stability of backend APIs, services, and applications.
The position requires making technology recommendations based on research and knowledge.
The engineer will learn the structure of a complex software application and identify and repair problems.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of professional experience in backend development of web applications.
A strong initiative and creative thinking for product development in a collaborative, innovative, agile, and team-oriented environment are required.
A strong understanding and experience with C# .NET, SQL, and REST APIs is necessary.
Experience with source control using Git/GitHub is required.
Knowledge and interest in sports, sports management, and statistics are preferred.
Experience with AWS, including S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch, is necessary.
Proficiency with load testing and performance monitoring is required.
Familiarity with CDNs such as CloudFront, Akamai, or Fastly is preferred.
Experience working on a high-traffic public-facing website is necessary.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.
