• Swish Analytics is hiring Basketball Data Scientists to join their team, which is central to the company's operations.
• Data Science plays a crucial role in developing core components of Swish's data products.
• The position involves ideating, developing, and improving machine learning and statistical models for sports betting products.
• Responsibilities include developing contextualized feature sets using sports-specific domain knowledge.
• The role requires contributing to all stages of model development, from proof-of-concepts to deployment in collaboration with data engineering and product teams.

• Adherence to software engineering best practices and contribution to shared code repositories is required.
• Documentation of modeling work and presentation to stakeholders and partners is necessary.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required; a Master's degree is highly preferred.
• Candidates must have demonstrated experience developing models at production scale for basketball or sports betting.
• Expertise in Probability Theory, Machine Learning, Inferential Statistics, Bayesian Statistics, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods is essential.
• A minimum of 4+ years of experience in developing and delivering effective machine learning and/or statistical models for sports or sports betting is required.
• Proficiency in relational SQL and Python is necessary.
• Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and related CI/CD processes is required.
• Familiarity with AWS environments is expected.
• A proven track record of strong leadership skills and the ability to partner with teams to solve complex problems is essential.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences are required.

Benefits:

• The base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $175,000, depending on experience and encompasses multiple levels.
