The Business Intelligence Data Analyst will become a subject matter expert for BI (data & analytics) on all intelligence-related tasks.
The Analyst will work independently and in a team environment performing requirements gathering, data analysis, process mapping, test case definition, development, and collaboration across multiple business units and projects.
Key duties include collaborating closely with department heads and business stakeholders to conduct workshops, interviews, and analysis to capture reporting and analytic needs.
The Analyst will create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data dictionaries.
Responsibilities also include analyzing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights, validating data sources, and ensuring data quality and integrity.
The Analyst will serve as the primary liaison between business units and the technical team, managing expectations, communicating project status, and facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT).
They will work with the development team to ensure that the final solution aligns with initial requirements and delivers tangible business value.
The role involves developing and implementing visually compelling interactive analytic reports and dashboards to promote effective decision-making.
The Analyst will analyze and document complex business processes, develop and implement ETL processes, reports, and queries in support of business analytics.
They will perform data analysis to troubleshoot data issues with BI solutions and data integration processes, ensure compliance with security policies, and support data governance processes.
The Analyst will provide technical and business knowledge support to the team.
Requirements:
Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar role with a strong focus on Business Intelligence is required.
A high level of data literacy and a strong ability to understand data models, data lineage, and data quality is essential.
Experience in report design with a strong portfolio showcasing best practices in data visualization and user experience for reporting is necessary.
Working experience with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Power Platform, Google Workspace, and App Script is required.
Proficiency with DAX and M languages, as well as SQL queries, is essential.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Strong time management and organizational skills are necessary.
The candidate must be detail-oriented but also able to understand the big picture.
Experience communicating with business users is required.
A Bachelorโs degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is necessary, although relevant work experience will also be considered.
