The Business Intelligence Analyst on the Technology Platforms team serves as a strategic partner between stakeholders across the Mozilla Foundation and the Technology team(s).
This role plays a critical part in building the Foundation’s data strategy, fostering a culture of data literacy, and empowering teams to leverage data for operational improvement and informed decision-making.
The Analyst will lead efforts to position data as a key organizational asset—ensuring strong data governance, interoperability, accessibility, and trust in alignment with Mozilla’s values and lean data principles.
Responsibilities include working with data stored in AWS to prepare high-quality, privacy-conscious datasets and visualizations, writing and maintaining SQL queries, performing statistical analysis, and responding to ad-hoc requests for data analysis.
The Analyst will collaborate with teams to design and build interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, supporting teams in building data fluency and enabling self-service use of dashboards.
The role also involves ensuring data practices uphold Mozilla’s lean data principles, documenting data sources, and identifying opportunities to improve data quality and accessibility.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar role using data to inform decision-making.
Proficiency in Power BI for building reports and dashboards that communicate insights clearly and accessibly is required.
Hands-on experience with AWS data tools (e.g., Redshift, Athena, S3) and strong SQL skills for querying and transforming data are necessary.
The ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear, respectful, and inclusive way to non-technical audiences is essential.
A commitment to ethical data practices and alignment with Mozilla’s values around privacy, openness, and equitable technology is expected.
Attention to detail, strong documentation habits, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are important.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment with diverse teams and shifting priorities, and support staff in the use of self-service BI tools.
