CGS is seeking a Cloud and Storage Engineer to develop and implement full-scale Storage Area Network (SAN) architecture for a large EMC-based SAN infrastructure in support of a large federal agency.
The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment and produce standards and implementation processes for storage configuration, optimization, replication, and storage security.
The role involves developing and implementing SAN architecture for a complex, geographically dispersed solution, ranging from single servers to multi-tier, multi-platform solutions connected through fiber channel to multiple EMC Storage Arrays with petabytes of storage capacity.
Responsibilities include defining strategic direction for the SAN and backup environment, designing and implementing customer storage requirements, and providing overall storage and backup capacity planning and utilization reporting.
The engineer will troubleshoot complex SAN infrastructure issues, participate in executing scheduled maintenance and projects, and develop technical documentation and cost models.
The position requires managing, maintaining, and developing the SAN infrastructure to ensure 24/7/365 uptime and architecting a private cloud environment.
Professional experience with Gov Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) and hybrid cloud architectures is desired.
Security-related tasks include documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing as required.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a relevant discipline is required, or eight (8) years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Significant, direct experience in Dell EMC products such as OneFile System (OneFS), MDS SAN switches, storage arrays (Unity, Isilon, VNS, and Data Domain), and RecoverPoint is necessary.
Candidates must have experience in developing and implementing SAN architecture and managing complex storage environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills for SAN infrastructure issues are essential.
The ability to produce technical documentation and cost models is required.
Experience with cloud environments, particularly Gov Cloud and hybrid architectures, is preferred.
