The position is for a Cloud Data Architect & Engineer specializing in AWS and healthcare data systems, reporting to Experian Health.
Responsibilities include designing HIPAA-compliant data architectures using AWS-native services such as AWS HealthLake, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, and S3.
The role involves leading the migration of legacy healthcare data systems to AWS.
The candidate will establish data architecture standards aligned with HIPAA, HITECH, and the 21st Century Cures Act requirements.
The role includes building secure, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and Athena.
The candidate will integrate healthcare data from EHRs, HL7/FHIR APIs, claims, and IoT devices into centralized data lakes.
Implementing real-time data streaming using Amazon Kinesis or MSK (Managed Kafka) is also part of the job.
Ensuring data quality, lineage, and governance using AWS Glue Data Catalog and Lake Formation is required.
The candidate will automate data workflows using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field is required.
The candidate must have 7+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering, with at least 3 years of experience on AWS.
A minimum of 5 years of knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, LOINC) is necessary.
Proficiency in AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, HealthLake, Kinesis, Lambda, IAM, and CloudWatch, as well as with SQL, Python, and Spark in cloud environments, is required for at least 5 years.
Experience with HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare data privacy/security best practices is essential.
AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional are preferred.
Experience with healthcare analytics platforms like Epic Caboodle or Cerner HealtheIntent is beneficial.
Familiarity with Amazon SageMaker for healthcare ML use cases is a plus.
Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, or Dagster is also required.
