Description:
The position is for a Cloud Edge Engineer located in Europe, working remotely within European time zones, with travel to customer sites as necessary.
The role involves being part of a team of engineers dedicated to developing scalable and secure solutions for public and private cloud environments.
The engineer will be responsible for creating, testing, and deploying solutions for deployment automation.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting production issues, maintaining cloud service operations, and collaborating with remote teams.
The engineer will oversee infrastructure on AWS, GCP, and Azure, resolve production infrastructure issues, and assist with launching new releases.
The role requires enhancing scalability and service availability through automation and process improvements.
The engineer will evaluate service efficiency, propose solutions, and improve service monitoring.
Active participation in cloud security and compliance projects is expected.
Requirements:
A background in computer science or engineering is ideal.
Candidates must have at least five years of experience as a CloudOps or DevOps engineer.
Proven expertise with AWS or another public cloud provider such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform is required.
Familiarity with Linux, security, and basic networking is necessary.
A working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment, including Docker and Kubernetes, is essential.
Proficiency in deployment automation tools like Terraform, Helm, and Argo Workflows is required.
A proven track record of identifying and resolving complex application issues is necessary.
Familiarity with technologies such as Ignite, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and RabbitMQ is required.
Knowledge of monitoring tools like Nagios, Kibana, or Prometheus is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with implementing cloud security and compliance measures is an asset.
Candidates should demonstrate a high level of initiative and follow through on issues until resolved.
Skills in coordinating efforts among geographically dispersed teams in different time zones are essential.
