The engineer will oversee and maintain the infrastructure supporting cloud services on AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Collaboration with remote cloud operations teams is essential to ensure ongoing cloud service operations.
The role involves resolving production infrastructure and application issues, investigating underlying causes, and collaborating with external carriers and development/quality assurance teams.
The engineer will assist in launching new releases, maintaining existing systems, and expanding into the cloud.
Enhancements in scalability and service availability will be achieved through process improvements, automation, tuning, and tools.
The engineer will evaluate service efficiency, identify problems, propose solutions, and improve service monitoring.
Active participation in cloud security and compliance projects is required.
Requirements:
A background in computer science or engineering is ideal.
Candidates must have at least five years of experience as a CloudOps or DevOps engineer.
Proven expertise with AWS or another public cloud provider such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform is required.
Familiarity with Linux, security, and basic networking concepts is necessary.
A working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment, including Docker and Kubernetes, is essential.
Proficiency in building deployment automation using tools like Terraform, Helm, and Argo Workflows is required.
A proven track record of identifying and resolving complex application issues is necessary.
Proficiency with technologies such as Ignite, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and RabbitMQ is required.
Knowledge of monitoring tools like Nagios, Kibana, or Prometheus is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with implementing cloud security and compliance measures is an asset.
Candidates should demonstrate a high level of initiative and follow through on issues until resolution.
Skills in coordinating efforts among geographically dispersed teams operating in different time zones are essential.
