Description:

  • The Cloud Engineer (AWS) position is a full-time role within the Information Technology department.

  • The role involves designing solutions that ensure maximum flexibility and scalability while meeting all required security controls.
  • The engineer will support the development of documentation for engineering, security, and operational processes.
  • Responsibilities include performing business and technical alternative analysis to aid customer decision-making.
  • The engineer will facilitate the transition of solutions to operations, ensuring the system operates within anticipated boundaries.
  • Candidates should have experience designing and implementing cloud solutions.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience is required.
  • Candidates must have at least four to seven years of professional IT experience supporting federal government agencies.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in the design, implementation, and support of highly distributed applications is required, demonstrating strong architectural skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud services is mandatory, along with architectural design experience.
  • Experience in designing and delivering large-scale solutions that have advanced to production is necessary.
  • Familiarity with lift-and-shift migrations and migration methodologies for cloud migration is required.
  • Candidates should have experience in cloud computing, networking, storage, and identity management.
  • An AWS Certification or Cloud Architect Certification, or a desire to obtain certification, is preferred.
