Remote Cloud Engineer

Description:

• Unlock Health is focused on breaking down barriers in healthcare by connecting managed care and marketing.
• The Cloud Engineer will manage, automate, and secure cloud infrastructure.
• This role involves close collaboration with software engineers to support containerized applications and streamline CI/CD workflows.
• Responsibilities include managing cloud environments (primarily AWS and GCP) with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
• The engineer will support container-based applications using Docker or equivalent technologies.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions is a key responsibility.
• The role requires writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and manage infrastructure using tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
• The engineer will respond to cloud security alerts and assist in improving security posture.
• Participation in the team’s on-call rotation is expected.
• Support for developers with database environments (mainly RDS and DocumentDB) is also part of the role.
• The use of AI tools to automate, troubleshoot, and code more efficiently is encouraged.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have 3–7 years of relevant experience in a Cloud, DevOps, or Platform Engineering role.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP infrastructure and services is required.
• Experience with containerization platforms like Docker or Podman is necessary.
• Proficiency in building CI/CD workflows, especially using GitHub Actions, is essential.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, or similar) is required.
• Basic scripting ability in languages such as Python or Bash for automation and tooling is needed.
• Candidates should have an awareness of cloud security best practices and a willingness to respond to alerts and remediation tasks.
• Comfort in supporting cloud-managed databases (SQL and NoSQL) in collaboration with development teams is important.
• Enthusiasm for using AI tools to accelerate tasks, write code, and solve technical problems efficiently is desired.
