NiCE is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to deliver Application Operations (SaaS) using AWS.
The role involves configuring backend systems and infrastructure for a global SaaS platform.
Candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of the Amazon AWS platform and be willing to troubleshoot and innovate.
Responsibilities include deploying, monitoring, automating, and supporting a highly scalable real-time platform impacting millions of individuals and billions of dollars.
Key tasks include implementing and configuring application release upgrades, setting up new environments, building monitoring and alerting services, and automating processes using Ansible, Python, and Perl.
The engineer will also manage change, create deployment scripts, optimize instances and web servers, provide AWS troubleshooting support, and collaborate with technical teams to meet customer needs.
The position requires working on complex customer problems and providing on-call support in a 24/7 shift environment.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Candidates must have excellent hands-on experience in managing Application Support for 3 tier/2 tier applications.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
Experience in handling complex application performance issues and exposure to APM tools like AppDynamics and Dynatrace is necessary.
Candidates should have skills in managing containerized/cloud-based applications and familiarity with various AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, ELB, VPC, VPN).
Experience in a DevOps environment or Operations team is required, along with excellent troubleshooting skills.
OS-level knowledge in Windows or Linux and database skills in SQL, Oracle, or Postgres/Cassandra are necessary.
Familiarity with application servers and middleware technologies (e.g., Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere) is required.
Candidates should have a good understanding of networking and load balancers, as well as exposure to scripting languages (Ansible, Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell script, Powershell).
Experience with tools like OpsGenie, Nagios, and Rundeck is preferred, along with a good understanding of Kubernetes and cloud/application-level security.
Experience in the banking and financial domain and familiarity with Agile/Sprint development models are also beneficial.
