Description:

  • Qodea is seeking an experienced Cloud Security Architect (Microsoft) to join their Secure Services team, focusing on Microsoft technologies such as Azure, M365, Defender, and Active Directory.
  • The role is remote (UK) with travel required as per project needs.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong consultancy background and experience delivering secure solutions within the UK public sector, ensuring compliance with government security standards and frameworks.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing secure cloud architectures tailored to public sector requirements, leading security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis for cloud-based and hybrid environments.
  • The role involves collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to embed security best practices throughout project lifecycles, developing and maintaining security documentation, and advising clients on compliance with various standards.
  • The candidate will also support incident response planning and execution and stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory changes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a consultancy capacity within the UK public sector is required.
  • A strong understanding of security frameworks, risk management, and governance is essential.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are necessary for this role.
  • The candidate must have strong knowledge of Microsoft security technologies, including Azure Security Center, Sentinel, Defender, and Purview.
  • Experience with M365 security and compliance configurations is required.
  • Familiarity with hybrid environments and securing on-prem to cloud transitions is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory is also required.
  • The candidate must possess a trusted advisor mindset, strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, and be an analytical thinker with a passion for secure cloud adoption.
  • The ability to obtain (or currently hold) SC/DV Security Clearance is required, with SC clearance usually requiring 5 years of continuous UK residency and DV clearance usually requiring 10 years.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is necessary.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, CISM, or similar, and TOGAF or equivalent are preferred.
