Smartsheet is seeking a Commercial Solutions Engineer to provide technical leadership throughout the inside sales process.
The role involves being a trusted solution and technical advisor during the sales process to ensure successful Smartsheet deployment and adoption.
This position is part of the Commercial Sales team and is based at Smartsheet corporate offices in London, UK.
Responsibilities include developing deep Smartsheet knowledge, partnering with Commercial Account Executives for technical demonstrations, and collaborating with existing Solutions Engineers to design creative solutions.
The engineer will identify, build, and demonstrate Smartsheet solutions that address specific customer problems.
Strong relationships with sales teams are essential to drive successful sales engagements, including providing daily product and technical support.
The role requires support in preparing technical responses to prospect questions and defining best practices for large enterprises.
Collaboration with Product teams is necessary to ensure offerings align with customer needs.
Periodic travel to enterprise customer sites is required to serve as a technical subject matter expert.
The engineer will also support marketing-related events and represent Smartsheet by demonstrating the platform and connecting with customers or prospects.
The role includes delivering on and exceeding all performance targets and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 1-3+ years of experience as a pre-sales Solutions Engineer or in a related field within the SaaS and enterprise software industry.
Technical leadership and outstanding customer-facing skills are required.
A passion for working with web-based technologies and a desire to understand functionality, use cases, and business and technical elements is essential.
A consultative approach regarding technology and product positioning to both business and technical users is necessary.
Experience in solution design or solution architecture related to collaboration, workflow, or project management is required.
Candidates should have experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth software company where change is constant.
Willingness to travel periodically based on customer and business needs is expected.
Proficiency in Google apps, Salesforce.com, and MS Suite is required.
Fluency in an additional European language or Arabic is desirable.
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the UK on an ongoing basis.
