Aquabyte is seeking a Computer Vision Engineer to help develop and deploy new algorithms to fish farms globally.
The role involves software and machine learning model development for on-camera and cloud software.

The company focuses on helping salmon farmers understand their fish population and make environmentally sound decisions through custom underwater cameras, computer vision, and machine learning.
The product operates at three levels: on-site hardware for image capture, cloud pipelines for data processing, and a user-facing web application.
The Computer Vision Engineer will work on improving the intelligence and efficiency of the camera system, focusing on understanding the weight and health of individual fish and fish populations.
The role is part of the AI team, collaborating with engineers who have extensive industry and academic experience.
Requirements:
A BS/MS in a relevant technical degree is required.
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in building computer vision software.
A strong coding ability and a solid grasp of Python are essential.
Experience with stereo vision, 3D reconstruction, and stereo calibration is required.
Candidates should have experience in training neural networks and deep learning, ideally with PyTorch.
Bonus requirements include experience optimizing model inference for real-time applications on limited resources.
Strong software engineering skills, including knowledge of best practices, testing, and deployment, are preferred.
Experience deploying models to NVIDIA Jetson boards or similar resource-constrained environments is a plus.
Familiarity with Docker and cloud software development (e.g., AWS) is beneficial.
Basic database interaction knowledge, particularly SQL, is also a bonus.
