Remote Corporate Security Engineer

Description:

• WorkOS builds tools and services for developers to help them implement authentication, identity, authorization, and overall enterprise readiness.

• The Security team is responsible for keeping company and customer data safe, focusing on internal security to ensure people, devices, and systems are secure by default.
• The role involves improving access controls, endpoint security, and tooling across the company, requiring a mix of hands-on execution and strategic thinking.
• Responsibilities include owning and improving identity and access management systems, administering and securing MDM and endpoint protection tools, and partnering with Infra to implement security controls.
• The position requires proactive identification of security risks and leading the rollout of mitigations, as well as shaping security policies that work well for engineers.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience with corporate security and endpoint management in a cloud-native, remote-friendly environment.
• Experience with identity, access, and endpoint security tools such as Okta, MDM, and EDR is required.
• Familiarity with cloud-native IT/security operations and SaaS environments is necessary.
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment and possess a practical mindset with a bias for simplicity and security-by-default.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is preferred.
• Scripting or automation experience in languages such as Python, Bash, or Terraform is a plus.
• Experience working at a startup or on a small security team is considered a nice-to-have.
