This position is for a Data Analyst, Finance at Vercel, located in the United States, and is a remote opportunity.
The role involves transforming raw telemetry data into financial insights that influence strategic decisions regarding revenue, growth, and margin optimization.
The analyst will collaborate with FP&A, monetization, and engineering teams to create advanced models, simulations, and dashboards.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining production-grade models in dbt and Snowflake, designing Python-based forecasting simulations, and leading root-cause analysis of financial performance.
The analyst will partner with monetization and finance teams to model pricing experiments and deliver automated reporting through dashboards for Finance and executive stakeholders.
Ensuring high data accuracy by defining validation and quality frameworks for key financial metrics is also a key responsibility.
The role includes mentoring peers in best practices related to dbt, Python tooling, and Snowflake optimization.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in finance-focused data analytics or data science roles, preferably within SaaS or usage-based models.
Expertise in dbt for building, testing, and deploying robust data pipelines, along with strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, is required.
Proficiency in SQL and Python (including pandas, scipy/statsmodels, and Prophet) for analysis, scenario planning, and statistical modeling is necessary.
A deep understanding of SaaS and cloud unit economics, including metrics such as ARR/MRR, COGS, payback, LTV/CAC, and retention cohorts, is essential.
Demonstrated success in creating financial models from raw event data and leading data-backed monetization strategies is expected.
Candidates should be skilled communicators capable of translating technical insights into executive-level recommendations.
Experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Mode, Hex, or Tableau, and familiarity with CI/CD in analytics workflows is required.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or a related discipline is mandatory.

The salary range for this position in San Francisco is $148,000–$222,000 USD, adjusted based on experience and location.
