The Data Analyst is responsible for processing large amounts of raw information into strategic insights for the Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams.
This role will serve as the face of the Data Team to other parts of the company.
The position is highly analytical, requiring strong SQL skills and proficiency in creating and presenting visualizations.
The Data Analyst will advocate for data-informed decision making across the company and help mentor and grow the data team in technical skills and process improvements.
Essential responsibilities include leveraging the modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake, Looker) to identify, analyze, and interpret trends in complex data sets for business-critical decisions.
The analyst will work closely with product and engineering teams to define, build, and analyze meaningful KPIs for applications and systems.
They will apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data visualization, and data-mining to create data alerts and derive actionable insights.
The role involves filtering, cleaning, and transforming data from various sources to enable analysis and working with management to prioritize business and information needs.
The analyst will also locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Domo is required.
Advanced SQL skills are necessary, including knowledge of multiple-table joins, unions, sub-queries, CTE, aggregations, temporary tables, and analytical functions.
Technical expertise in data mining, modeling, transforming, cleansing, and validating is essential.
The ability to take vague requests and transform them into concise deliverables is required.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information are necessary.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
A BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or equivalent experience is mandatory.
It is great to have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python, expertise with Looker, experience with Data Build Tool (dbt), experience with embedded analytics solutions, and advanced knowledge of statistics with experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Python, numpy, pandas, R, Excel, etc.).
