  • The New Jersey State Office of Innovation is seeking a Data and Policy Lead to join the Business.NJ.gov team.
  • This role focuses on leveraging data to enhance the effectiveness of Business.NJ.gov and improve state interactions with businesses and entrepreneurs.
  • The successful candidate will integrate data services to define success and advance diversity and equity in entrepreneurship across New Jersey.
  • Responsibilities include leading success measurement and goals-based analysis, analyzing and visualizing data, implementing advanced web analytics, conducting policy research, and engaging with various stakeholders.
  • The position requires at least 5 years of experience in data analytics and policy research.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in data and product analytics, preferably with a focus on public service and impact.
  • Proven expertise in Google Analytics implementation, configuration, and reporting is required.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and modern platforms is essential.
  • Candidates should possess analytical skills to generate data-driven actions and have knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research strategies.
  • Strong understanding of web analytics concepts, tracking methodologies, and data visualization techniques is necessary.
  • Proficiency in implementing Google Analytics through JavaScript and other relevant tools is required.
  • Candidates should have knowledge of digital marketing strategies and metrics, including SEO, SEM, and social media.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for translating technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Project management capabilities and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are necessary.
  • Graduate-level training in public policy, data science, statistics, economics, applied mathematics, or business is preferred but not required.
