Key activities include leading data solution requirements gathering, defining data architecture runways, and providing input into business cases and costing.
The architect will develop and oversee data architecture views, maintain data solution artifacts, and manage data architecture processes.
They will lead and review logical and detailed data architecture, evaluate and approve data solution options, and oversee data solution blueprints.
The role requires identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks at a data solution architecture level and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
The architect will establish data solution architectures and tools for delivery teams, manage deviations, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
Communication and knowledge sharing are essential, including advocating for up-to-date data solution architecture views and ensuring IT teams are informed about architecture requirements.
Requirements:
A minimum of Matric is required.
A degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field is necessary.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in a technical/solution design role and a minimum of 7 years of relevant IT experience.
A minimum of 7 years of related experience in data engineering, data modeling, design, and data management and governance is required.
Experience with Big Data and Analytics (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), Data Warehousing (e.g., DataBricks, Snowflake, Redshift), and Master Data Management (MDM) is essential.
Familiarity with Data Lakes, Data Mesh, Metadata Management, ETL/ELT Processes, and Data Privacy and Compliance Cloud Data Services is required.
Preferred qualifications include DAMA-DMBOK, TOGAF, ArchiMate, Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure), and experience in the financial industry.
Competencies required include critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, leadership skills, and knowledge of architecture domains and methods.
