  • The Data Architect serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT, working closely with business groups to understand their needs and define system requirements through fact-finding and research.
  • Responsibilities include designing and developing data models that accurately represent the organization's data requirements and working with large and complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • The role involves maintaining data models to ensure accuracy and up-to-date information, monitoring data quality, and collaborating with data engineers to resolve issues.
  • The Data Architect must establish and maintain comprehensive data model documentation, including detailed descriptions of business entities, attributes, and data relationships.
  • They will understand the flow of data and business processes, providing data mapping requirements and user interface specifications to the ETL team.
  • Coordination with business partners, technical analysts, and developers is essential to identify and define specifications and communicate project status and needs.
  • The position requires managing change control processes and ensuring effective program/project communications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills are necessary to clearly communicate status to the senior management team.
  • The Data Architect will analyze the current state and conceive the desired future state, identifying projects needed to close the gap between current and future goals.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 12+ years of experience as a data modeler, developer, data warehouse consumer, or in data-related operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of working experience or exposure to Azure, GCP, or other cloud development and deployment practices is required.
  • Applicants should have at least 4 years of experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing dimensional data warehouses on Snowflake is necessary.
  • Candidates must have 3+ years of experience with deployments via DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • A graduation from a 4-year college or university with major coursework related to the position is preferred.
  • The ability to operate astutely within the organization and emphasize methodology, modeling, and governance is essential.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of .Net, Java, and SQL language (i.e., T-SQL) is required.
  • Candidates should possess mid-level to expert knowledge in data integration concepts, source-to-target mapping techniques, and requirements documentation for the ETL team.
  • Strong project management skills are necessary to manage multiple projects simultaneously across the software development life cycle phases (SDLC).
  • A strong track record of interviewing business partners and managing expectations regarding deliverables and requirements is required.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and software project life cycle methodologies is essential.
  • Experience with standard systems analysis tools and procedures is necessary.
  • Candidates must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and customer service skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to establish a deep understanding of clients' business issues.
  • Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of people leadership skills, 4+ years of mortgage and/or financial industry knowledge, and working knowledge of Big Data concepts.
