MoveOn.org is seeking a Data Architect for a fully remote position in the United States.
The role involves designing and maintaining robust data infrastructure to support voter engagement, campaign strategy, and organizational outreach.
Responsibilities include leading list management and supporting voter engagement campaigns by creating clean, normalized contact data and custom queries (50% of the role).
The Data Architect will design and manage data infrastructure, including global schema standardization, survey data integration, and ETL pipelines (30% of the role).
Collaboration with software engineers is required to maintain data ingestion and synchronization between Redshift and third-party platforms (20% of the role).
The position also involves writing ad-hoc SQL queries for internal stakeholders and identifying automation opportunities for recurring tasks.
Ensuring data quality and integrity across various tools and outreach platforms is a key responsibility.
The Data Architect will contribute to the maintenance and optimization of integrations between internal systems and external APIs.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience with large relational data systems and strong SQL skills, including performance optimization.
Proficiency in data architecture best practices, schema design, and ETL workflows (especially with dbt or similar tools) is required.
Experience with Git for version control and integrating data from diverse sources is necessary.
Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with non-technical stakeholders.
Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fully remote environment.
A proactive mindset with an emphasis on privacy, security, and data resilience is expected.
Bonus qualifications include experience with campaigning tools (e.g., ActionKit, Mobilize, Spoke), voter file data (e.g., TargetSmart), or building custom data pipelines.

The annual salary for this position is $131,819.10, which is non-negotiable and based on an equity-based compensation model.
