The position is for a Data Engineer, specifically a Postgres Database Engineer, working on a cloud-based conservation analytics platform.
This role is part of a SAFe Agile scrum team and is a long-term contract that is 100% remote.
The candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust and can be available for W2 or 1099; C2C/3rd parties are not accepted.
Responsibilities include developing and managing a performant Postgres database to support the conservation analytics platform, developing complex back-end queries using Postgres and/or PostGIS, and implementing and managing ETL jobs and data pipelines in an AWS environment.
Requirements:
Proficiency in data engineering concepts, including ETL processing, data warehousing, schema design, and optimization/data modeling is required.
Candidates must have a total of 6 years of experience in the field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience using PostgreSQL to support a high-performance data analytics platform is necessary.
Candidates should have 3 years of experience with PostgreSQL data tuning and permissions management.
Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
Experience leveraging Git as a code repository is required.
