Description:

  • As a Data Engineer, you will join a diverse team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge data tools that support BetterHelp's rapid growth.
  • Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing solutions for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and accessibility for diverse data consumers across the organization.
  • You will collaborate with BI & Analytics Engineers, ML Engineers, and Data Scientists to tackle complex data challenges and make informed architectural decisions.
  • Responsibilities include designing and maintaining modern data platforms, developing data pipelines, delivering analytical insights, and ensuring data quality and compliance.
  • You will work with a modern data stack including Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, and AWS services.
  • The role allows for remote work with occasional travel to the San Jose office for team bonding.

Requirements:

  • A BSc/MA in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role is necessary.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing data pipelines and solutions using Python is required.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience building performant tables in OLAP warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery are essential.
  • Experience with Python-based workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow is required.
  • Familiarity with frameworks for building complex data models, preferably dimensional modeling frameworks, is necessary.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or ECS is required.
  • Experience with BI Tools such as Looker or Tableau is necessary.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to design and implement data solutions in accordance with data privacy, governance, and security measures is essential.
  • Experience using git for version control is required.
