The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure for a public health organization.

The Data Engineer will work within the Boston Public Health Commission, IT, Data modernization.
Responsibilities include creating and managing systems and pipelines for data flow, collecting and transforming data, optimizing data pipelines, and implementing security measures.

Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field is required.
A minimum of five years of experience in building Data Warehouse and/or Data Lake implementations in a product-centric environment is necessary.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and SQL is required.
Experience with big data technologies and frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Flink is essential.
A strong understanding of database systems, including relational and NoSQL databases, is required.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools is necessary.
Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, is a plus.
Expertise in data modeling and data integration techniques is required.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and software design patterns is necessary.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and outstanding interpersonal skills are required.
